Vanuatu Island Hopper
Far from your standard tourist resorts you'll find the real, untouched Vanuatu. Picture this; deep blue water holes you can dive into, empty white sandy beaches, endless fresh coconuts to sip on and rewarding, impactful community work in a sea-side village. Yep, Schoolies in Vanuatu ticks pretty much every box there is for your schoolies trip and we haven't even scratched the surface! Vanuatu’s tropical islands and amazing mountain tops are a photographers’ dream. Hit the markets in Vanuatu's chilled out capital of Port Vila, visit the UNESCO World Heritage listed Eretoka Island (also known by the locals as “Hat Island”) and get to know stunning Lelepa Island, which will feel like home in no time.
Once you land in Vanuatu, it won’t take long to be reminded of the importance of family and friends - and how it’s the simple things in life that usually make us the happiest! On Lelepa Island, there's always a need to improve school and community buildings to make them more robust and usable, supporting the locals in improving their quality of life.
Based on the needs of the village at the time, you’ll be working with local tradespeople to help renovate a women’s centre or community hall, build a toilet facility in the primary school or church, or construct a playground in the kindergarten. As well as gaining skills in teamwork and communication, you’ll walk away with a real sense of accomplishment knowing that you’ve made an impact to the lives of many.
The World You'll Explore
10-days on a tropical island, what's not to like? Grab your snorkel and explore the reef, get a little competitive and play a few rounds of beach volleyball with the locals or chill out in a hammock with your mates. Did you know a series of Survivor was actually filmed on Lelepa Island? It's that amazing.
Island hop from one paradise to another, before spending time in the happening capital of Port Villa, home to tonnes of markets and cafes. Grab yourself some bargains and get ready for an afternoon at the Blue Lagoon; a world-famous deep, aqua lagoon that you that you can literally swing into and float in for hours. Who's ready?
Just a stone's throw away from the water, Vanuatu travellers will normally find themselves staying in traditional island-style, multi-room wooden huts. You'll wake up each morning to the sound of tropical birds overhead, and gentle waves lapping the shore. Local homestay families will provide you with delicious fresh meals, clean and cosy bedding, and everything else you need to feel welcome and settled for the duration of your trip. How's the serenity?
